• 26 Aug 2010 XXXII Finnish URSI Convention on Radio Science and Electromagnetics 2010 in Oulu.
• 7 May 2008. Call for Papers of URSI XXXI Convention on Radio Science in Espoo.
• 9th and 10th October 2006. The XXX URSI Convention on Radio Science in Sodankylä Geophysical Observatory, Sodankylä, Finland.
• 28. November 2005. Prof. Martti Hallikainen, Chair of URSI Commission F (2002-2005) and Chair of Finnish National Committee was elected as Vice President of URSI for 2005-2008. The election took place at the URSI General Assembly in New Delhi.
• 25. November 2005. Prof. Ismo Lindell was awarded with Balthasar Van der Pol Gold Medal with the citation "For the development of new methods and solutions in electromagnetic field theory and for exceptional didactic skills". The award ceremony took place at the URSI General Assembly in New Delhi.
• 2 November 2004. The Young Scientist Award of the National Convention on Radio Science in Espoo was given to Pekka Pursula (VTT) for his presentation "Antenna radiation characterization by backscattering modulation".

• 17 October 2003 The Young Scientist Award of the National Convention on Radio Science in Oulu was given to Esa Kunnari from Oulun University for his presentation "Modelling and simulation of Rice fading with femporal, spatial and spectral correlation - Part I: characterization of fading".

• 22 August 2002. Martti Hallikainen, Chair of the Finnish National Committee, was elected as Chair of URSI Commission F for 2002 -2005. The election took place at the URSI General Assembly in Maastricht.
