- 28. November 2005. Prof. Martti Hallikainen, Chair of URSI Commission F (2002-2005) and Chair of Finnish National Committee was elected as Vice President of URSI for 2005-2008. The election took place at the URSI General Assembly in New Delhi.
- 25. November 2005. Prof. Ismo Lindell was awarded with Balthasar Van der Pol Gold Medal with the citation "For the development of new methods and solutions in electromagnetic field theory and for exceptional didactic skills". The award ceremony took place at the URSI General Assembly in New Delhi.
- 2 November 2004. The Young Scientist Award of the National Convention on Radio Science in Espoo
was given to Pekka Pursula (VTT) for his presentation "Antenna radiation characterization by backscattering modulation".
